POZZI has been among the first machine manufacturers to work towards sustainability, designing, manufacturing and patenting energy-saving products, certified by independent national boards and also officially recognized by international entities such as the Solar Impulse Foundation, to allow the shift to a safe and sustainable low-carbon and low-input economy.
The wide variety of POZZI products ranges from dyeing machines to chemical dispensing systems, from fixing and conditioning machinery to Agave cooking plants to heat recovery units with the first rotating heat exchangers ever built to successfully recover heat from heavily polluted effluents (its latest model called RHeX, EU-funded within an Horizon2020 project).
Recently, our efforts have been conveyed towards promoting an innovative approach in wastewater applications by combining the RHeX heat exchanger with a heat pump and achieving even better results in energy recovery from industrial processes. Such solution consists of having a multi-step system that can integrate passive and active energy recovery, thus improving the overall efficiency of both heat exchanger and heat pump compared to being used as stand-alone technologies.
POZZI is also entering the spirits industry by revolutionizing the Agave cooking process for Tequila production. Phoenix PV is an innovative solution that redefines the autoclave technology and exceptionally improves the cooking efficiency. The results translate into a substantial saving on energy costs and CO2 emissions, as well as a superior quality of the final product.
